| I was
born in the Chinese Year of the Monkey and grew up in the most sinful
of all cities — Las Vegas. The only daughter to a Vietnamese
mother and Chinese father, I am a first-generation American brought
up in a very loving household that held education and independence
in high regard. I lived the stereotype of the overachieving Asian
kid... quiet, reserved and often shy... and I still am! All through
grade school, I was named "Most Studious" for good reason:
I was an honor roll student, sat on the Student Council board, kicked
the boys' butts in sports and received my first varsity letter as
a freshman in high school (for track and field, where I was one
of the top-ranked female hurdlers). I was a real nerd, always juggling
a million school activities at one time and all the teachers loved
me. ;-)
But there was always
a certain side of me that wanted to make trouble. I guess
that deep down inside, I didn't want to be so perfect (haha!) and
I was one of the lucky few with lenient parents and no curfew. Outside
of academics, I basked in the glow of the Vegas nightlife, which
was filled with gambling, strippers and smoky bars. With the help
of some older friends, I bought a fake ID (actually a few, as most
of them were taken away from me!) and at an early age I experienced
all the craziness of my hometown, hanging out in high rollers' hotel
suites and sipping Cristal in the VIP rooms of my favorite nightclubs.
It's like those Bacardi ads — bookworm
by day, Bacardi (or in my case, flavored martinis) by night.
However, this lifestyle-in-the-fast-lane soon burned
me out and I decided to refocus my energy on school and what I was
going to do afterward. I graduated with honors and spent the next
year in Vegas working, partying and trying to figure out my goals.
Most of my friends were going to four-year liberal arts colleges
or jumping into work full-tiime... but I didn't want to go the conventional
route. Taking a year off after high school was one of the best decisions
of my life, because it allowed me to plan ahead for my future and
truly appreciate a good education. I ended up winning a full-ride
academic scholarship to one of my top-choice design schools in New
York City, and I would begin the new term next fall.
In the meantime, I was looking for a quick and
easy way to make money so I decided to give modeling a try. I wasn't
discovered by anyone, I never attended those cheesy model searches
or pageants... I simply put a portfolio together and approached
different agencies that could get me work. I found representation
in Vegas and Los Angeles and so began my modeling career. Lots of
jobs came my way, from trade shows to print ads to local commercials.
By now I'm sure you're
wondering... how did I go from mainstream fashion to nudes online?
Well, I had always been fascinated by fine art and I loved black-and-white
figure portraits by masters like Herb Ritts and Patrick Demarchelier.
I began collaborating with different photographers on my own fine
art projects, using my body as a landscape. I loved the results
so much that I decided to shoot some color nudes as well, to have
as a keepsake when I'm old and haggard — I can tell my kids
later that their mom used to be a pretty hot chick! hehe
Within a few months I was ready to move to New
York and begin school. Talk about a culture shock! As soon as I
landed on the east coast soil, I could just smell all the energy
in the air. There was so much art, music
and fashion in the city and I fell in love with everything it had
to offer. I also found that Manhattan was a much better market
for modeling than Vegas was, so I began booking small jobs on the
side to earn some extra money. Those small jobs turned into full-fledged
assignments, and those assignments became a fast-paced year of work.
I was truly blessed with opportunity. Instead of slaving away at
an afterschool job to pay for school supplies, I was traveling to
beautiful places and meeting new people. Those first two years definitely
opened my eyes to the world.
Since then, the opportunities I've had have been
incredible: I've sashayed down the New York runways, flown overseas
for photo shoots, appeared in films, commercials, magazines, catalogs
and calendars, partied with Hef and the Bunnies at the Playboy Mansion,
and co-hosted my own weekly Internet radio show. This website launched
during my college years in response to my growing fan base... I
couldn't believe I even had fans! I became
known as the girl with the best butt in the business... hence the
tagline of my site. It's not very often you see these kind
of curves on an Asian!
After graduating Magna Cum Laude (or is it Magna
Cum Hottie? hehe... according to my AVN
Online interview), I decided to move back west and take a chance
on Los Angeles, where I could be closer to family and work in a
market that was better suited for my career goals. It was the land
of the Fake Beautiful People — lots of silicone, Botox, flashy
BMWs and smooth talkers. But after living in Vegas and New York,
I'd heard it all, seen it all, and appearances just don't impress.
I'm pretty laidback as far as "LA people" go, I'm just
here to work and enjoy my life... "keeping it real" as
the saying goes. I've definitely become more of a homebody since
I've gotten older, and stay away from the party scene as much as
I can. After living such a crazy life
as a model, all I want to do now is come home to a quiet sanctuary,
flip on the TV and cuddle with my dogs!
I'm now working in different aspects of communication
design, still a nerd more than ever, and take on new modeling assignments
whenever I can. You will usually see me on episodes of Wild On E!
or Extra TV, as a model for world-famous lingerie landmark Trashy,
or at my many special appearances and autograph signings in cities
across the US. I guess the reason I still continue modeling is because
I really do enjoy it, and the reason my website is still here is
because it allows me a chance to keep in touch with all the wonderful
fans that have supported me over the years.
A lot of my old classmates from grade school email
me out of the blue, not believing that this exhibitionist model
on the Internet used to be the bookish girl in their anatomy class.
Well, I guess I learned a lot in anatomy! Don't
they say the quiet ones are always the most dangerous? It
goes to show that you shouldn't knock on that nerdy girl... you
never know what she might grow up to be!
Love,
